Town of Addison appoints Joel Pearson as Dog Control Officer, approves contract with Southern Tier Animal Control

The Town of Addison Board on Jan. 8, 2025 appointed Joel Pearson, representing Southern Tier Animal Control, as the town's Dog Control Officer for a one-year term effective immediately. Council Member Joseph Trappler moved and Council Member John Lyons seconded the appointment; the motion passed 5-0.
At the same meeting the board approved Resolution #3 of 2026 to authorize a Dog Control Contract with Southern Tier Animal Control. Motion by Trappler, seconded by Lyons, carried with Thompson, Weale, Lyons, Trappler and Becker voting yes. Town Clerk Robin Carr reported there are currently 31 expired dog licenses; the board's appointments and contract approval put the town in position to pursue licensing compliance and enforcement under the new contract.
