Board supports statewide rule limiting thermal-imaging use during closed seasons

One member said the removal of county designations made sense because it avoids a patchwork of restrictions and closes perceived loopholes. "It does not exclude Elko County now...It looks like we're included in this now," a member said while reviewing the draft language. The board moved to support regulation 5.26 and the motion carried.
Members framed the change as a way to reduce misuse of technology that can increase take or allow remote locating of animals outside lawful seasons; the endorsement advances the proposal through the commission’s rulemaking process.
