District reviews instructional programs and summer ESY plans for students with disabilities

Assistant superintendents presented a year‑end instructional programs review and outlined Summer 2025 Extended School Year services for students with IEPs (about 40 students expected), plus multilingual summer reading and other engagement offerings.
District administrators provided an overview of work completed across instructional programs this year and previewed summer services. Assistant Superintendent for Student Services Dr. Chrystyna Sroka and Director of Student Services Dominique Guza described the Extended School Year (ESY) program for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), noting the district will offer in‑person ESY at Eisenhower Elementary from June 10–July 3 and estimates roughly 40 students will participate.
Administrators said ESY staffing needs would include special education teachers, educational support professionals and related service providers; hiring was underway and administrators hoped to limit outside contracting to only two positions. The packet also describes bilingual Summer Reading in the Park, run with the Prospect Heights Public Library, and lists other family engagement events scheduled for the summer.
The Instructional Programs memo in the packet recapped the year's curricular work and previewed priorities for 2025‑26, including continued implementation of science and math materials and further development of MTSS and special‑education supports.
