Prospect Heights School District 23 approved a not‑to‑exceed $150,000 contract with Low Voltage Solutions, Inc. for low‑voltage cabling replacements and upgrades at MacArthur Middle School and the Grodsky Administration Building. Administrators said cabling integrity had declined and the work will be included in the FY2026 technology budget and is E‑Rate eligible for Category 2 funding.
District technology staff also presented planned moves to cloud‑hosted telephony (one‑time FY26 cost reported at approximately $74,028 with subsequent annual licensing of $17,759) and an upgrade to the Informacast emergency notification system (FY26 cost reported at approximately $15,700 with later annual licensing of $3,804). Board materials note the phone‑system move reduces future on‑premises server replacement risk and that the Informacast renewal would expand emergency alert functionality.
The motion to approve the LVS cabling agreement was made by Tracey Morrissey and seconded by Brian Greidanus and passed by a unanimous voice vote. Administration said other infrastructure upgrades will follow as part of multi‑year planning and E‑Rate budgeting.
