Prospect Heights SD 23 board swears in new trustees and elects officers

The Prospect Heights School District 23 Board of Education opened its regular meeting at 7:05 p.m. on May 8, 2025, with Brian Greidanus presiding as Board President pro tem and district administrators in attendance. The board acknowledged certified results from the April 1 consolidated election and administered the Oath of Office to the three successful candidates.

Cook County election totals certified April 22, 2025, were read into the record, confirming Rebecca A. McClaney with 2,362 votes, Spencer Long with 2,245 votes and Tracey E. Morrissey with 2,260 votes as elected to four‑year terms. “This election having been certified … results in Spencer Long, Rebecca A. McClaney, Tracey E. Morrissey being elected,” the clerk’s certificate states.

Following the oath, the board opened nominations for officers. Brian Greidanus moved a slate nominating Rebecca McClaney for president, Dr. Spencer Long for vice president and Carol Botwinski for secretary; Mr. Greidanus’s motion was seconded by Brynn Nordmark and carried by voice vote (7 Ayes). As a result, Rebecca McClaney assumes the office of board president, Dr. Spencer Long was elected vice president and Carol Botwinski was elected secretary.

The meeting minutes record that Dr. Don Angelaccio, superintendent, and assistant superintendents Dr. Craig Curtis, Amy McPartlin and Dr. Chrystyna Sroka were present for the reconfirmation and officer election. The board will announce committee appointments at the June meeting and published its calendar of regular meeting dates through mid‑2027 for the public.
