The Board continued discussion of replacing the County's public safety radio communications system. Facilities Director Ryan Johnson reported Federal Engineering had provided a draft assessment; Commissioners asked Day Wireless and Motorola for complete proposed project scopes and Commissioner Colene M. Martin requested a Board resolution to identify the communications project as a County priority to support federal appropriations and grant requests. No formal action was taken on the communications project during open session.
The Board approved Cheryl Johnson's application to the Law Enforcement Service District Citizens Advisory Committee by unanimous vote. Chair Ron A. Smith then called an Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(d) for labor negotiations deliberations and ORS 192.660(2)(a) to consider employment of a public officer or employee. After reconvening, the Board authorized Human Resources to proceed as directed on labor negotiations and to process position requisitions and hiring for Board Office and HR Department positions; all authorizations passed on unanimous roll calls.
