Assessor wins ORMAP grant to digitize nearly 1,200 tax maps

Chris Parton, Josephine County Assessor, presented ORMAP Intergovernmental Agreement Contract #PO-15000-00062322 and asked the Board to authorize execution so the Assessor's Office can continue digitizing and republishing county tax maps. "The funding would support approximately 0.80 full-time equivalent personnel for one year," Parton said, noting that nearly 1,200 maps exist and many remote-area maps had not been comprehensively updated for more than 20 years.
Commissioner Colene M. Martin moved to approve the agreement and authorize the Assessor to sign; Commissioner Gary L. Richardson seconded the motion. The Board voted unanimously with Commissioners Richardson, Martin, and Chair Ron A. Smith recording yes votes. Parton told the Board the department has already begun work and maintains a current list of completed and pending maps and that the agreement allows for consideration of an extension if additional time is needed.
