The Minden City Council voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance No. 11-71, amending chapter 78 of the city code to allow the public works director to deem a sidewalk a public-safety issue and order repairs.
Councilman Roy moved the ordinance "to amend and reenact the code of ordinances city of Minden, state of Louisiana, chapter 78, street sidewalks and other public places," and Councilman Pendergrass seconded; the motion passed without objection. The ordinance was described as an update to align city maintenance procedures and provide the public works director clearer authority to address hazardous sidewalks.
No public testimony was recorded on the item and council did not propose on-the-floor amendments.
