Water Vision Working Group matrix completed; committee to send matrix to board for approval

Tom Shuchak presented the Water Vision Working Group's condensed matrix and said the group completed a set of tasks but is blocked awaiting direction and legal review. He told the committee the group consolidated an 18-page matrix to a five-page version and then trimmed further; he said two tasks (water-and-well assumptions/strategy and recharge/banking) are "gated by the attorney" and the working group needs direction on whether to continue its work or hold until new staff is in place. "So until we get direction from the board, if we're still engaged... we can't make any more progress until we talk to the water attorney," Shuchak said.
Board members emphasized focus and the need to approve the matrix so task owners are identified and work can proceed. Several members volunteered to present the matrix to the board; committee members said approval would let designated people contact the water attorney and move forward on geophysical studies and other site work for wells. No final decisions on site procurement or spending were made at the committee; the committee recommended sending the matrix to the board for action.
