City announces $485,911 library bookmobile grant and upcoming community events

City Administrator McCann and other staff reported a series of community-focused items during the March 17 meeting. McCann announced the Taylor Library received a $485,911 grant from the Minnesota Multi-Purpose Community Facility Projects program to purchase a new bookmobile. McCann also reminded residents that a Climate Action Plan community input session is scheduled for March 18 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Fire Station No. 2, that the Indoor Recreation Virtual Open House closes March 21, and that lifeguard classes are scheduled for March 27, 28 and 31 with registration closing March 21.
Public Works Director Arnold also noted staff obtained a $3.325 million grant to fund a roundabout and underground underpass at Webster Avenue in coordination with MnDOT’s Highway 169 reconstruction. Finance Director Ryan thanked donors supporting scholarship programs and encouraged youth to apply. Spring Clean Up dates (April 7–18) and eligibility details were also noted.
