The Harford County Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board on June 18 approved a request from the Kern family to return a pre‑existing dwelling building envelope to its original location. Staff member Jen Wilson told the board the family had previously received approval in 2024 to relocate the envelope away from Winters Run and closer to the property’s northeastern side, but the old dwelling was never demolished and a replacement was not built.
Board member Bill Amoss moved to approve the Kern family’s request; Dave Dougherty seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board’s action restores the building envelope’s prior placement rather than requiring development at the approved relocated site. Staff noted the change reflects the owner’s update that plans to build on the property were abandoned when a family member purchased another home.
