Administrative Services Manager‑City Clerk Van Genderen reported the city must set registration fees ahead of state business licensure and recommended fees consistent with the Office of Cannabis Management's maximum allowed rates. The council adopted Res. No. 44‑25 to set rates and charges for cannabis registration. Van Genderen reported the city has two high‑potency licenses available under its ordinance.
City Attorney Kennedy advised the council that registration fees would be easier to reduce than to increase and that the state is approaching its first licensure round. The resolution delegates fee setting authority to the council under the ordinance; no fee dollar amounts are specified in the minutes.
