Board approves MET overlay easement for Bowers family

The Harford County Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board on May 21 unanimously approved a request from the Bowers family to place a Maryland Environmental Trust (MET) overlay easement on three parcels already covered by a county agricultural preservation easement. Staff member Jen Wilson told the board that Deb Bowers was seeking to remove two additional development rights and that the MET overlay would afford greater environmental protection than the county easement.
Board member Bill Amoss, who said he recently inspected the property and found it well maintained, moved to approve the request; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously. The action was recorded as a formal motion and vote. The meeting minutes list no conditions attached to the approval.
