Kenny Spratt, founder and CEO of Talentbase and the Veterans Career Bridge program, told the board his model centers on translating veterans' military skills into civilian roles rather than defaulting to long retraining sequences. "We often we often ask what training do they need. But really what we should be asking is how do we help veterans translate what they already bring to the table," Spratt said.
Spratt described a participant journey that begins with two weeks of professional development, military-skill translation and employer engagement, then moves into flexible, employer-aligned training and placements. He highlighted a graduate example: "After completing our program, Eddie was hired as an IT manager with Braun Electric, making over a $135,000 a year." Spratt said the program has completed two cohorts and is building partnerships with community colleges and apprenticeship pathways.
