Assistant finance director says cloud platform will let residents apply and pay permits online

Assistant Finance Director Heidi Schmauer told the council that the vendor's cloud module (ClickToGov) would let residents set up user accounts, submit building permits, check application status and make payments online: "They go in. They can go and put in a building permit. They can look it up, they can do the application online, they can pay online," she said.
Heidi said the move from paper to an integrated cloud platform would give customers earlier visibility into account balances and reduce in-office transactions; she also emphasized the staff training burden, saying one staff member has been in training for about three months and that full staff readiness will take roughly "about 7 to 8 months."
