Julie McClure of the Concord Housing Development Corporation reported construction of detached single-family homeownership units at Assabet River Homes is underway, that coordination continues with Habitat for Humanity and the Town on an easement and a new water main connection, and that the first family has been selected and begun sweat-equity work with the first unit closing anticipated at the end of July or in early fall.
On Junction Village, McClure said there is currently no MOU linking the site to MCI and that the CHDC's position is Junction Village should not be assumed a given commitment; CHDC members emphasized the need to preserve specific affordability goals as the MCI planning proceeds. CHDC representatives also noted ongoing work evaluating properties for a Homeownership Buy-Down Program supported by recent Trust funds.
