MCI Concord plan advances; Select Board sets Sept. 9 milestone, members urge transportation planning

Wendy Rovelli told the roundtable that building permits for NOVO and the Residences at Thoreau "are expected to be issued in July with construction starting in August," and that the MCI Concord design charrette had been well received. She said an online feedback survey is open through July 1 and that a milestone meeting to present a "final" illustrative plan has been scheduled for Sept. 9 at 6:00 PM at Concord-Carlisle High School.
Members emphasized the need to integrate transportation planning with housing production, warning that zoning decisions should not outrun transportation analysis. Rovelli also noted ongoing negotiations with the state's Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) on the MCI agreement and said refinement and feasibility work will continue over the summer.
