KMA tells Concord commission progress on ADA self-evaluation; transition plan due in June

Emanuel of KMA told the Commission on Disability that KMA has finished seven of 11 tasks in its ADA self-evaluation and is starting Task 8, the ADA Transition Plan. Emanuel said the final deliverables are due by June 26, which will enable Concord to apply for the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD) grants next year.
KMA identified that Concord already has the five core administrative ADA actions in place, including an ADA coordinator and a grievance procedure, but the draft report recommends program-level changes and targeted physical fixes. The consultant emphasized that program accessibility — policies, training and event planning — can resolve a substantial share of barriers when combined with physical repairs. The report also recommends publishing the final plan widely on the town website and delivering a 20-minute Select Board summary on July 20, with Jennifer Brooke providing a resident-focused introduction.
