The Elko County TV District board approved updates to its capital-project list, moving Ruby Vista upgrades out of the current fiscal year and adjusting timelines for several transmitter and microwave projects.
Staff member (speaker S4) told the board that Ruby Vista upgrades were moved "completely over into fiscal year 'twenty 7 because nothing's going to happen by June 30." The board also shifted Lamoille transmitter work and added a note that the district will cost-share a service vehicle with the county to preserve funds for other projects.
Technical staff (speaker S5) said the Twin Peaks site is now likely to be rented rather than purchased, and estimated the equipment and installation cost for that rented site at about $89,000 to place microwave equipment on West Twin. S5 also described an estimate of about $50,000 to upgrade licensed microwave links and an approximate $140,000 estimate to trench fiber from the dispatch center to the airport fiber hut as potential future projects.
After members discussed the adjusted timelines and estimates, the Chair called for a motion to approve the updated project list; the motion was seconded and the Chair announced the motion carried.
