Superintendent Knapp updated the Durand Area Schools Board Sept. 8 on planned professional development for staff focused on active-shooter response and on identifying relocation and exit locations for all district buildings, citing exit points in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) as part of those preparations. No vote was required; the board expressed agreement and no conflicts were reported.
Knapp also confirmed that Ken, the district athletic trainer, will return to his normal schedule and be present at varsity games. Maintenance issues were also raised during the reports section: Maintenance Director Jim Neddermeyer reported work to repair three leaking pipes at the high school.
