Superintendent Kirby reported the school year began with some transportation challenges that required corrective work and that the Transportation Department is receiving an influx of driver applications. He said the district's employees "are the best advocates for the positions" and staff are working to improve services.
Kirby also told the board the district has a tentative agreement with the Bus Drivers group and is working through the ratification process. He announced the first Safety Committee meeting will be held next month and thanked Ryan Kimball for leadership on safety. The superintendent additionally noted potential changes to the FLEX Academy location, staffing and instruction and updated website information about bond work and board-candidate/election materials.
