Revitalize Dunkirk wins Kaboom grant and outlines Point Gratiot Trail build plans

Jim Enser, representing Revitalize Dunkirk, told the council the organization replaced all 55 coco-shell liners for the city’s hanging baskets and partnered with P-TECH to manufacture replacement chains. Enser announced the group won a grant through a partnership between the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation and Kaboom to support a trail project the group has pursued for several years.
Enser said key elements of the Point Gratiot Trail (named Discovery Way at the Point) are slated for construction in June, Kaboom's lead designer will visit the site and that build days are scheduled for June 9–12 with about 25 adult volunteers per day. Enser thanked city staff, the DPW, and corporate partners who have pledged support for volunteer coordination and materials.
