Jason Wiseman, director of planning and parks development, described a phased renovation for the city skate park that would remove older wooden ramps and replace them with concrete features designed for a range of skill levels. Wiseman said the city engaged California Skate Parks to develop the initial design and that the project will proceed in phases tied to available funds.
"Creo que en estos momentos contamos con unos 750000 dólares para la 1º fase del skate park," Wiseman said. Staff emphasized the plan relies on community input: a public survey and follow-up workshops will shape the detailed design, and staff committed to additional outreach to skate users and local businesses to broaden participation.
Some community members urged clearer survey questions and more transparent outreach to ensure users who favor wooden features or closed-parks events are heard; staff said they will host workshops after analyzing initial survey responses and will attempt to contact skate groups, local shops and past participants to broaden engagement.
