Committee reviews Guaranteed Viable Curriculum work and data use across grades

Staff from MHS updated the committee on development of a Guaranteed Viable Curriculum (GVC), priority standards and aligned assessments, elementary data-day benchmarks, and an expected PLC evaluation presentation in March or April.
Committee members heard a presentation from MHS staff (Ms. Lily and Ms. Becker) describing work on a Guaranteed Viable Curriculum intended so "students receive the same quality education regardless of teacher." The presentation outlined priority standards, aligned assessments, and how local and state benchmark data will be collected and used to check implementation of fall Data Day recommendations.
Staff also reviewed behavior systems and associated technology, analyzed ELA and math academic data, and said a Professional Learning Community (PLC) evaluation presentation should be expected at a March or April board meeting. The minutes note upcoming professional development on Feb. 23 across grade levels and specialties to support the work.
