The Pioneer School District Board of Directors honored outgoing director Dr. Susan Day at its Sept. 23, 2025 meeting, presenting her with a commemorative plaque and remarks recognizing her service.
Superintendent Jeff Davis presented the plaque and noted the board’s appreciation for Dr. Day’s dedication. In a ceremonial gesture celebrating her emphasis on reading, twelve students each received a book personally signed by Dr. Day.
Board members spoke about the collaborative culture Dr. Day fostered. In the meeting’s final remarks, Dr. Day said her service had been “meaningful and heartfelt,” and board members replied that they would miss her expertise. The meeting adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
