Registrar of Deeds reviews revenue gains and offers historical maps for sale to MDI Historical Society

Registrar of Deeds Julie Curtis told commissioners the Deeds Office has a healthy increase in revenue and that the surcharge line showed no balance; she said she will return with a recommended surcharge figure. Curtis also asked the board to consider adding a budget line for historical maps after the recent purchase of three maps (Ellsworth, Mount Desert Island, and Hancock County).
Curtis said she has been corresponding with the Mount Desert Island Historical Society to offer the MDI map for sale and that a representative is scheduled to visit the Deeds office on Wednesday, July 22 to review the maps; she will report back to the County Administrator on the outcome.
