“The sales tax budget [is projected] to be 677,137,” Exum said, noting that 0.5 percent of local sales tax is dedicated to the district for fire-prevention services. Exum added the budget and supporting schedules were provided in a supplemental binder for the board’s review.
The board asked no substantive follow-up questions and the president clarified this agenda item was for discussion only; no motion or vote was required. The presentation emphasized that the sales-tax transfer mechanism is the district’s primary funding vehicle for fire-prevention and EMS support. The board will consider any formal action or a public hearing schedule as part of later, separate items.
