Park superintendent says AC failures marred 4‑H fair; preventative maintenance cited

The park superintendent (speaker 6) told the board that the 4‑H Fair went well overall but "literally all of our air conditioners went down, like, a day or 2 in" at the Smith Building during the event. He said he repaired one unit himself by clearing vents and that contracted HVAC work (MRS Heating & Cooling) repaired the others.
The superintendent said three of the issues could have been avoided with preventative maintenance and that he will add a monthly cleaning task to staff duties. He is seeking quotes to replace a unit that is currently fully down and said it may be as economical to replace the unit as to repair it. He reported a recent repair cost of about $700 for two units that required contractor work.
Separately, the chair (S1) and superintendent discussed building lights that shine on the flags at the Smith Building; the superintendent said the board will need a lift to reach and fix the fixtures. The chair also noted the park received rental income of $3,280 in June that has been deposited to the account.
Next steps: superintendent will get multiple HVAC quotes (including from JTM Mechanical and MRS Heating & Cooling) and bring estimates back to the board for a funding decision.
