Jason Mellema, superintendent of the Ingham Intermediate School District, presented a proposed Ingham ISD bond to the Mason Board of Education, saying the measure would fund improvements at Heartwood and the Beekman Center and describing how it would affect homeowners if passed. The presentation included a history of both buildings and a summary of areas that need repair or updates.
Vice President Steve Duane thanked Mellema for the briefing. The presentation was informational; the board took no formal action on the bond at the Feb. 12 meeting. According to the transcript, Mellema said, “If passed the bond will address improvements at Heartwood and the Beekman Center.” The board will receive no further fiscal action from Mason Public Schools regarding the bond until the district or voters take steps outside Mason’s board process.
