Denton re-elected chair; Carten chosen vice chair at Zoning Board

The Zoning Board of Adjustment re-elected Larry Denton as chair and selected Steve Carten as vice chair during its July 7, 2026 meeting. The board voted to re-elect Denton 5-0-0 after he agreed to continue in the role; a separate motion to elect Carten as vice chair also passed unanimously.
David Kafka nominated Carten for vice chair; Town Administrator Christina Goodwin said Carten could serve in both the Planning Board chair role and as Zoning Board vice chair and noted that if a conflict of interest arose between the two boards Carten could recuse himself. The board then approved corrections to the June 2, 2026 draft minutes and set the next meeting for August 4, 2026 before adjourning at 7:09 p.m.
