Village to spend about $400,000 on road paving using CHIPS funds

Mayor Halley told the board the village received CHIPS funding and plans to spend nearly $400,000 on resurfacing work on a defined list of streets, including Windermere Avenue, Golden Avenue, Sterling Road, Court Avenue and others. "So we're gonna spend approximately close to $400,000 on roads," he said, adding the bids came within budget and the highway superintendent will provide a start date.
Later in the meeting the board approved Resolution 5-2025/2026 authorizing the street pavement project with Ward Paving not to exceed $404,170. The mayor said part of last year’s CHIPS allocation was used to purchase a truck after work was delayed by administrative errors, and that residents will be notified about schedules and closures once dates are set.
