Mister Holt listed a string of completed studies and awards the county is using to support climate work. "We were awarded $660,000 from that grant," he said of the Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant, and he told the committee the county also received $1,500,000 from FEMA to support Anacostia flood monitoring.
Holt added that NASA agreed to perform heat-island mapping for the county pro bono and that the county applied in November for a $40,000,000 EPA grant that has not yet been decided. Council members asked when the task force's implementation strategies and the resilience study would be published; Holt said the report itself was not yet published although a dashboard was available to view.
