The Jonesville City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 226 on Nov. 19, 2025, recodifying the city's Zoning Ordinance. Mayor Gerry Arno presided while Councilmember George Humphries Jr. moved the approval, seconded by Councilmember Chris Grider; the roll-call vote recorded ayes from Grider, Guyse, Humphries Jr., Penrose, Sands and Arno. Dean Adair II was absent.
Council staff explained the recodification's purpose: to update outdated references to the 'Village of Jonesville' to 'City of Jonesville', to remove regulatory references to Fayette Township now that the communities no longer maintain a joint ordinance, and to incorporate amendments enacted since 2013. The council opened a public hearing on the ordinance at 6:32 p.m.; there were no public comments and the hearing closed at 6:33 p.m. The ordinance passed by unanimous vote and will be filed and published according to city procedures.
