Amy Santana, an intern, said her placements included the county library, the sheriff's office and the Department of Social Services, giving her hands‑on exposure to community programs and front‑line public service work.
"During my time with the department of social service, we both [saw] the different programs they provide, including child welfare, adult service, food assistance, Medicare, and foster care," Santana said. She also described assisting with library programs and front‑desk duties at the sheriff's office and attending special events like a traffic safety command center exercise.
