Board Member Susan Alvaro reported that the YMCA Partnership Subcommittee approved the latest invoice for previously authorized work and expects YMCA staff to present detailed housing plans, costs, and visuals at the Board meeting on March 18. The upcoming presentation could be followed by Board discussion and potential project approval.
Alvaro said funds from the Loma Mar property sale have been segregated within Fund 40; more than $1 million has already been spent on improvements, and interest earnings have kept the balance close to $5 million, which remains available for Jones Gulch capital projects. Deputy Superintendent Kevin Bultema clarified that the $4.5 million the Board previously approved was for capital improvements for Camp Jones Gulch and that current discussions concern separate administrative housing.
Board members were informed that maintenance addendums for the existing 25-year lease will be reviewed in April and that those addendums would address upkeep for new and renovated buildings without reopening the full lease.
