The Calvert County Police Accountability Board voted to administratively close a public complaint after the sheriff's office reported that an internal review found no police misconduct or policy violation. Chair (speaker 1) said the agency's response and clarification from Wayne Silver supported the determination and asked whether the board should close the matter or take further action; a committee member (speaker 4) moved to close the matter, the motion was seconded and the board approved the closure by voice vote.
The chair also proposed a recommendation asking the sheriff's office to remind deputies to activate body-worn cameras under policy 11-703. Officials from the sheriff's office (speakers 5 and 7) said the reminder had already been issued and the topic had been incorporated into training. The board moved to modify the recommendation to state explicitly that the sheriff's office had already reminded officers; the modified recommendation passed by voice vote. "You've already reminded everybody?" the chair asked, and the agency replied, "That's correct."
