The Town Board voted May 21 to authorize a mailed survey to gauge community interest in extending public water service to the Dingman/Damon Point area. A consultant told the board a survey would produce more reliable data than a single public meeting and said design and cost-estimate steps would follow if the survey shows support.
The consultant warned that typical annual user fees for many new water districts are often in the $800–$1,200 range and that funding programs are oversubscribed, so a strong justification would be needed to secure grants. "I think a survey gives you more concrete evidence," the consultant said. The board moved to circulate a sample survey, Clerk Sandy was asked to provide owner contact names, and the motion to send the Dingman Point water survey was approved by voice vote.
