The Town Board of the Town of Alexandria on May 21 adopted an updated comprehensive plan dated May 2025, replacing the 2015 plan as the town's official roadmap for future planning. "The Town Board of the Town of Alexandria hereby adopts a comprehensive plan updated in May 2025," the Chair read during the meeting as the resolution was put to a roll call vote.
Board members said the update draws on community input — the online survey received 129 responses and three public meetings were held — and is meant to guide investment, attract grant funding and inform land-use decisions. The resolution was offered by Councilman Sean Thomas and seconded by Councilman Tim Davison; the roll call recorded unanimous support with Supervisor Brent Sweet and all council members present voting yes. The board also noted the clerk will complete the certification required to finalize the update.
