"At this point in the year, we've processed well over 1,500 applications," a coordinator for program quality said, adding that the district uses trend data to identify schools with available seats and to offer openings to waiting‑list families in June through August.
Presenters said full‑day pre‑K for four‑year‑olds includes early literacy and math instruction, specials (art, music, PE, media), and a play‑based guided center block. For three‑year‑old inclusion classrooms the district offers half‑day options and higher staffing ratios tied to individualized IEP instruction. Staff also described a new preschool learning profile (a developmental progress report) that will be shared with families twice per year to support goal setting and family conferencing.
