A motion to authorize staff to proceed with a contractor bid for a campground well passed after members tied the authorization to the closing of a property sale (the '700 house'). The mover said the authority is contingent on funding being finalized from that sale; the motion was seconded and approved by roll-call votes.
"I move that we get Jake the authority to move forward with the bid for Riffy for the well for the campground, on the contingency that the sale of the 700 House is finalized," the Committee member said during the motion. The vote recorded affirmative responses from board members during roll-call.
Separately, the board authorized staff to begin coordination with NIPSCO for the electrical work required for campground improvements as soon as funding is available from the same closing. Both permissions were framed as contingent operational steps that staff may take to accelerate work once the sale funds are in hand.
