Audit committee approves minutes, reviews follow-ups and schedules next meeting

The Davis County Audit Committee approved the draft minutes from its prior meeting after a motion and voice vote. Chair Lorraine Kamali opened the meeting and led a brief roll call before members moved to adopt the minutes without objection.
The committee then reviewed the commissioners' response to issues raised at the May 19 meeting, which included items on the fraud and ethics hotline, completed audits, the annual risk assessment and the internal audit model. Carrie Bhatt of the commission office circulated the response documentation and Chair Kamali invited public-member appointees to review the materials to stay current on follow-up tasks. "She tries hard to give us a draft within a week or so after we have a meeting so that there's time for action items to be worked on," Kamali said.
Members confirmed there were no items requiring closed session and set the next audit committee meeting for Nov. 2 at the same time and place. The meeting adjourned at 03:34.
