Council members flagged a section of water main in an industrial area (behind Apex and near Crown Extrusions) that has required repeated repairs. A council member said the street has more holes from utility repairs than elsewhere in town and called replacement “a huge benefit” to nearby businesses.
Staff said the premium from the July 22 bond sale will be used in part to pay for replacing that pipe and related reconstruction. The council voiced appreciation that the financing will support both the new water treatment plant and targeted local repairs that improve service and reduce repeated street disruptions.
Council directed staff to proceed with applying available premium receipts toward the replacement work and to provide schedule and cost details in follow‑up reporting.
