Corey Avenue monument sign design deferred pending public-works input

Staff showed images and explained the current Corey Avenue sign uses a 3-D carved foam substrate that has become brittle when exposed to the elements; staff suggested alternatives such as Alumilite or a vinyl overlay to preserve the arched design without the fragile material.
"Based on the current, material, it's it's like a 3 d carve sign," staff said, explaining the substrate's brittleness. Board members recommended public services and parks staff attend the next meeting to advise about irrigation, electrical hookups and any CIP timing; members also suggested simple interim fixes and expressed a preference for a monument-style sign that better represents the corridor. The board agreed to table the design until public-works input and cost estimates are available.
