Town says state and federal agencies asked for more information on proposed Swan Bay culvert replacement

He said the town has applied to multiple agencies — the Department of State, DEC, Army Corps of Engineers and the Office of General Services — and that both the Department of State and the Army Corps have asked for additional information, including whether the project is consistent with the town’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and a work plan for protecting the area during replacement and any dredging.
Rob said the DEC has requested a wetland delineation; the town has completed field work but has not yet finalized the full delineation report. He also noted the board has a 1937 map showing the culvert and dredged area that may help locate the existing structure.
Rob said the process will take time and that the town will provide agencies the requested materials and keep the board updated. No decision on proceeding with replacement was made at the meeting; staff emphasized the need to await agency guidance on impacts before executing any work.
