The Langley City Council on March 2 adopted its consent agenda, approved the meeting agenda and passed an ordinance updating the city’s Public Records Response Policy, with all recorded motions passing unanimously.
The consent agenda included approval of accounts payable transactions and vouchers, approval of commission meeting minutes and Council meeting minutes for Feb. 17 and Feb. 23, and the appointment of Cheryl Lawrence to the Civil Service Commission and the reappointment of Crystle Ogle to the Dismantling Systemic Racism Commission. Councilmember Dominique Emerson moved to adopt the consent agenda and Councilmember Thomas Gill seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Council later moved to adopt the meeting agenda (Emerson moved; Gill seconded) and that motion also passed unanimously.
On the ordinance to update the Public Records Response Policy, Deputy Clerk Kristen Abraham "explained the necessity of this ordinance" during the open session; Councilmember Dominique Emerson moved to approve the ordinance and Councilmember Chris Carlson seconded. The ordinance passed unanimously. The meeting record notes all three motions as passing without recorded opposition.
