The chair opened nominations for chairman, vice chair and clerk and explained that any member could be nominated. After one candidate accepted the nomination for chair and no other nominations were offered, the chair called for a voice vote and the motion passed. A committee member then nominated themself for vice chair and later volunteered to serve as clerk as well; the council approved those nominations without a paper ballot. “Thank you both for stepping up. I think that's the fastest we've ever done that,” the chair said after the votes.
