County staff said the current contracts expire Dec. 31, 2026, and that an RFP process in early 2026 identified GFL as the selected vendor.
Staff explained that the franchise terms will run from Jan. 1, 2027, through Dec. 31, 2031, and the board authorized the county manager to execute the finalized contracts once the county attorney approves the form. Commissioners completed the second readings by voice vote and directed staff to finalize contract details and return any materials required for execution.
