Board approves sale of 4.1 acres at Triangle North to support bakery expansion

Economic development director Charlotte Duncan briefed the board on the location (near Triangle North Drive and Tabs Creek Road) and said the purchase price reflects roughly $35,000 per acre, totaling $143,500. Duncan said Strong‑Arm Baking currently employs about 84 workers, offers an average hourly wage of approximately $25 and projects a first phase that would add about 18 positions. The proposed sale is contingent on the KTRADC board's approval (which staff said had already occurred) and on utility extensions to the tract; Durango Works would pay utility connection costs.
The board took no public comment on the matter and voted to carry the sale forward. Thomas Blaine, identified in the room as one of the owners, was present and the board welcomed the project's local investment.
