The Hague Town Board accepted the immediate resignation of longtime town attorney John Silvestri, Esq., and approved contracting with Miller, Mannix, Schachner & Hafner LLC as temporary town counsel with Mark Schachner named as the principal attorney. The personnel committee will actively recruit a permanent replacement while the firm provides interim legal services.
"John Silvestri Esquire, resigned effective today," a board member announced during personnel updates; the board then moved to accept the resignation and later approved a resolution to appoint the temporary counsel, with the motion carried by voice vote. The board said it will manage continuity of legal services while conducting a search for a permanent town attorney.
