Diane Ganinelli, co‑facilitator of Albion’s sister city committee, introduced an 11‑member French delegation and several chaperones to council, noting a long history of exchanges and local host families. “We have a group of 11 people who were here in town,” Ganinelli said, and asked host families to stand so council could recognize them.
Ganinelli described partnerships forged during exchanges — including visits with Albion College athletes and collaboration with local groups such as the Playwright Sports Academy and the Kalamazoo Watershed Council — and invited council members to participate in a planned adult trip in September 2027. Council and audience members welcomed the visitors and thanked the committee for organizing the program.
The committee left certificates and thanked the council for the welcome; no formal action was required by council on the visit.
